The LIC Jeevan Tarun is a child insurance plan from the Life Insurance Corporation of India. It is designed to help parents save money for a child’s education, career, or marriage while also providing life insurance protection. (Liferay DXP)


1. Basic Details

  • Plan Type: Non-linked participating child plan

  • Entry Age of Child: 90 days to 12 years

  • Maturity Age: 25 years (child’s age)

  • Minimum Sum Assured: ₹75,000

  • Maximum Sum Assured: No limit

  • Premium Payment Mode: Yearly / Half-yearly / Quarterly / Monthly (Policy Buy)

Policy Term Formula:

  • Policy Term = 25 − child’s age at entry

  • Premium Paying Term = 20 − child’s age at entry (LIC New Policy)

Example:
If child age = 5 years

  • Policy term = 20 years

  • Maturity at 25 years age


2. Survival Benefits (Money for Education)

Parents can choose 4 options for receiving money when the child grows up. (LIC New Policy)

3. Maturity Benefit

4. Death Benefit

If the insured person dies during the policy:

  • Higher of 10× annual premium or 125% of Sum Assured

5. Additional Features

  • Loan facility: After paying 2 years premium

  • Surrender option: After 2 years

  • Tax benefit:

    • Premium under Section 80C

    • Maturity under Section 10(10D) (Policy Buy)


6. Optional Rider
