🪪 Aadhaar Card Name Correction Process

To correct the name in your Aadhaar card issued by Unique Identification Authority of India, you can update it online or offline at an Aadhaar center.


1️⃣ Online Name Correction Process

You can update the name through the myAadhaar portal.

Steps:

  1. Visit the official UIDAI website

  2. Login to myAadhaar using your Aadhaar number

  3. Enter OTP sent to your registered mobile number

  4. Select Update Aadhaar Details → Name Update

  5. Enter the correct name

  6. Upload supporting document

  7. Pay ₹50 update fee

  8. Submit the request and save the Update Request Number (URN)

After approval, you can download the updated e-Aadhaar.


2️⃣ Offline Name Correction (Aadhaar Center)

  1. Visit nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra / Enrollment Center

  2. Fill Aadhaar Update Form

  3. Submit the required documents

  4. Biometric verification will be done

  5. Pay ₹50 fee

  6. You will receive an Acknowledgement Slip with URN


📄 Documents Required for Name Correction

Submit any one valid ID proof:

  • PAN Card

  • Passport

  • Voter ID

  • Driving License

  • Ration Card

  • Government Photo ID Card

  • Bank Passbook with photo


⚠️ Important Rules

  • Name can be updated only twice in Aadhaar.

  • Correct spelling and format must match the document.

  • Update usually completes in 7–15 days.
